Although we do not have a regular local outreach program, we do a number of community service projects and seek to reach out to our community through the way our members live, work, and intereact in the community.

Here is just a sample of what we do around the community:

Care Enough to Share

One night every 1-2 months is devoted to making personal contact with those individuals and families who have come into contact with our church. Whether they visited a worship service, attended a ministry event, or participated in some way with our church, we attempt to contact them and let them know we care. This is done by teams of people who pray, write letters, make phone calls, or go out on home visits as we attempt to tell others about the love of Jesus.

Helping Hands for Jesus

Every summer, we devote one evening to a massive outreach and ministry event called Helping Hands. During the course of the evening, we provide economically disenfranchised inviduals in the community with everything from "Yard Sale" items, produce, hair cuts, oil changes, hot pretzels and other baked goods, all at no cost to them. Throughout the evening, our volunteers seek to make sure that we are meeting not only physical needs, but also spiritual needs as we seek to pray with and share the Gospel with those in attendance.

Service Projects

Various Life Groups and age-stage ministries participate in other local service projects such as landscaping and cleaning for people whose yards are in violation of town ordinances, repairing homes damaged by fires, etc. as God makes these opportunities available. Many of these needs are brought to our attention by the Dept. of Social Services in Christiansburg, and we are more than happy to share the love of Jesus with whomever we come into contact with.
